Hi, I’m Ari.

I’m a UX designer and web developer interested in accessibility and improving human experiences.

I first began exploring how people interact with their world, and what impacts their behavior, during my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Willamette University. This was achieved by studying the human psyche, the psychology behind learning, and the DSM-V. However, what was never discussed during my studies was how technology impacts behavior and where they intersect.

I enrolled in General Assembly’s Software Engineering immersive in order to begin studying the interaction between human behavior and technology. There I learned the fundamentals of full-stack engineering, such as product development fundamentals, object-oriented programing, and MVC frameworks, but we did not spend time focusing on design.

After graduating from General Assembly’s immersive I moved directly to learning how design impacts user experience by studying concepts of UX research and UX design,  interaction design, and I began working on UX design projects.

In my free time I have volunteered for Talking Books and Braille services, and studied American Sign Language. I am excited about accessibility, improving the human experience through intuitive design, and  working with medical professionals to create technology to improves the lives of medical patients and people with chronic illnesses.

In my free time you can find me adventuring, learning recipes from The Great British Baking Show, or reading a good book
